International cooperation is something many sectors are clamoring for. Some say the primary benefit of this is for the sake of the earth, but others claim such cooperation is mainly felt in business.
Environment protection is what some say is the ultimate benefit of countries working together. Climate change, depleting resources, and wanton environmental damage done by irresponsible organizations are problems a country cannot solve alone. Government leaders cannot police their neighbors, and therefore help from all countries is required to monitor how multinational corporations run their operations worldwide. So, for some, it is clear that Mother Earth has much to gain when nations cooperate in addressing environmental issues, making it the most significant benefit for them.
However, others say it is business that primarily benefits from global cooperation. For them, countries do not necessarily team up just to address the ills of the earth. The primary purpose of international cooperation is to improve each country’s economy, leading to better lives for the citizens within. Everybody benefits when countries work together to ensure trade security, fair market prices, and enhanced technologies. Any help for the environment is only a secondary gain, not the primary reason why nations help one another.
As for me, I agree with the latter. Leaders mainly seek to assist one another to improve business ties. They develop and implement trade agreements to ensure a steady and easy flow of products and services so that life can continue in their respective countries. Because of the increased interdependence of goods and manpower from differing places, international cooperation is needed to guarantee that business will continue without interruptions. While the environment sometimes benefits, it is not always the case, and it is not always the priority, such as when some countries insist on continuing the use of fossil fuels. Therefore, it is true that business benefits the most when countries cooperate.
