Some people believe that women should play an equal role as men in a country's police force or military force, while others think women are not suitable for these kinds of jobs. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

National security is of utmost importance to every country. In today’s time, both men and women defend the nation and protect the rights of the citizens. However, some critics believe that females are not suited for such work.
Despite women’s contributions in other fields, some think that military or police work is not meant for them. One reason is the frailty of women compared to men. Most enemy soldiers and criminals are physically strong men. In combat, such adversaries may easily overpower a female soldier or police officer, making women a liability to the military and police. These critics further argue that females are not as ruthless as men. Because of their motherly instincts, women may try to pacify the person than to shoot first. But in war or the middle of a violent crime, deadly force should be used without hesitation; otherwise, more innocents may be harmed.
On the contrary, many more believe that women can serve the public well. Both military and police work need more than just brute force and ruthlessness. There is a lot of planning, strategizing, and even detective work involved. Women can greatly contribute to this as they have a different perspective than men.
Most importantly, since females are not as callous as men, their presence can ensure that women and children are treated properly. On many occasions, male soldiers and policemen have been accused of manhandling their captives and even molesting female suspects or victims under their care.
In my view, I believe women do belong in the military and police. Though not as strong physically, their instincts and intelligence complement their male counterparts.
Besides, with the weapons at their disposal, they don’t need brute strength to protect themselves and others. It is also good that cooler heads are in the military and police to prevent needless violence and ensure the safety of the weak from abusive soldiers and cops. So instead of belittling their contributions, we should be recognizing how women are making every country safer.
