In the past, teachers were the main source of information, but today students have a wide source of information, so teachers are no longer important in the modern education. Do you agree or disagree?

It is argued that because of the development of technology, teachers are no longer the primary source of information for students and are therefore not essential in education. In my opinion, this is false because teachers play a vitally important role in the learning process.
Firstly, the internet and other resources are not a replacement for the teacher’s role in disseminating information. While some students do like to learn by reading either books or online material, most prefer to learn through real-life interaction. For example, while learning in class, students have a chance to interact with their teachers and ask questions; this allows them to form and challenge their opinions. In contrast, studying online lacks the atmosphere of a learning environment that motivates them to think deeper.
In addition, teachers not only impart knowledge to students but also help shape their characters. Teachers' personalities, to some extent, will influence their students' attitudes. If a teacher is a patient, responsible, and honest person, his students may acquire some of those positive attributes. By contrast, obtaining information from other resources may lack the personal touch of a teacher and could deprive students of opportunities to grow.
Moreover, students can acquire more knowledge with the help of teachers who have learned professional teaching methods. Teachers are very proficient in teaching theories and pedagogical expertise, which means that they know how to train students to understand complicated ideas and how to tailor lessons according to students' needs. However, this cannot be done well when using computers or books and would provide less effective approaches for learning.
In conclusion, new sources of information have provided people with additional opportunities to learn. However, I believe that teachers are irreplaceable in our educational system and are still a primary source of information for most people. The learning environment and soft skills they provide are unmatched by other sources.
