It will be better to have wide use of driverless cars for individuals and society. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the statement?
无人驾驶汽车经过测试后应该广泛使用
A goal of technological advancements is to improve society. Something that is currently being developed is the driverless car, a vehicle some think should be in use. In my opinion, assuming all the kinks have been ironed out, driverless cars should be widely used for the good of individuals and society.
Road accidents are a perennial problem due to human error. That is why it would be great if a driverless car system were in place, as computers rarely make mistakes. If driverless cars are the norm, chances are people can return home safely.
Additionally, many would suffer less stress if they were simply passengers. Many regularly complain that dealing with reckless and rude drivers ruins their day, so widespread use of driverless cars would be a boon.
Society, too, has much to gain. Vehicular accidents do not just affect the vehicle occupants; they also affect surrounding infrastructure. These accidents cost the city millions in repairs and inconvenience many people. Plus, traffic congestion could be reduced if driverless cars become widespread. Since the onboard computer system can calculate the best route and avoid mishaps, the daily logjams that hurt the economy may finally disappear.
Nonetheless, opponents of the system continue to point out that these cars are still not error-free. And I, too, disapprove of the use of these prototypes. However, there will soon come a time when these vehicles will have been thoroughly tested. That is when driverless cars should be widely used, as the benefits would outweigh any drawbacks.
To conclude, once the driverless car system is finally available, it would be best for all if its use is widespread. Not only will it be safer for individuals, but the whole of society will be able to breathe easier knowing that nobody is making mistakes behind the wheel.
