In recent years, young people in many countries choose to live by themselves. What are the reasons and is it positive or negative for the development of the society?

Nowadays, the young generations in many countries have started living on their own rather than with their families or friends. There are a number of reasons why this change has occurred, I think it would be possible to see some negative impact on the society.
Some people choose to live alone because they dislike the inconveniences of sharing a house with someone who has different routines or habits such as staying up late, while others may be introverts who do not enjoy social contact. But for most young adults, they often see living alone as an opportunity for freedom. For example, they no longer need to conform to a strict set of rules and a fixed timetable. Instead, they gain the chance to do what they want, when they want.
Although moving out of the family home to live alone helps a young person learn how to be an adult as they have to deal with household chores independently, there are also some drawbacks. In an age when social media has taken the world by storm, loneliness and feelings of isolation are on the rise among young adults who prefer interacting with people in the virtual world all day. This problem will surely be exacerbated as more young people choose to live by themselves. In extreme cases, this lack of face-to-face interaction can eventually lead to serious mental health problems such as depression. In the long run, this would have a detrimental effect on communities where residents barely talk to each other in person.
It remains to be seen if there will be any long-term repercussions from the current trend of people living alone, but there is a possibility that it may have a negative impact on one’s ability to make friends or engage in social interaction.
