Some people think young people should be free to choose their job, while others believe that they should be realistic and think about their future. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
应该综合考虑自己的兴趣和现实,灵活做决定
A big concern among most young people is what career to take. Some sectors suggest young people pick what interests them the most, while others feel young people should think realistically and select something that secures them a better future. This essay will present both sides and share my views.
Many believe that it is important to pursue a career that one is passionate about, which is why they advocate for young people to have the freedom to choose their career paths. They argue that people usually excel when they love their job, leading to faster promotions and job contentment. It is also harder to finish a degree in college or pass on-the-job training if people do not like what they are doing, so it is unwise to obtain a job simply for the money or prestige.
Conversely, others go against such thinking for practical reasons. One is that the preferred job might not pay well. Even if a person is good at a particular trade skill, such as baking or carpentry, they might only earn minimum wage.
Moreover, what a person likes sometimes has limited opportunities. In today’s society, many young individuals aspire to become renowned dancers, musicians, or athletes. Yet, if a person lacks the necessary skills or talent, they may face challenges in making a living, let alone achieving fame.
In my opinion, young people should pursue careers they are passionate about, but also remain flexible enough to consider related options if their initial choice proves impractical. For example, if someone is into sports but cannot do it professionally, they could become a coach or even a sportswriter. In this way, the person can do something related to their passion.
Furthermore, they would have a better chance of making a decent living since they love their field. It is a far cry from trying to do something they are not enthusiastic about. That, for me, is what young people should do.
