The spread of multinational companies and the increase of globalization produces positive effects for everyone. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
全球化并不会使每个人都受益
It is argued that the growth of globalization has produced favorable outcomes for all who are involved. I think that not everyone benefits from this trend and that citizens of poorer nations can even be victims.
It is widely acknowledged that foreign companies can improve living standards of developing countries dramatically. For example, the medical equipment that multinational factories produce can cure diseases and extend the lifespan of the local populace, while also offering career opportunities. Importantly, the economy begins to boom in regions that conglomerates move into. Since these enterprises tend to hire domestic workers, people gradually have more disposable income. However, it is important to note that, despite these benefits, large companies can provide dismal working conditions for staff who are desperate for work of any kind and may eventually fall victim to malpractice.
On the other hand, globalization is not guaranteed to bring benefits to everyone. Small businesses may find it challenging to compete with large companies from other countries. Unfortunately, this ultimately results in the destruction of the domestic market and excessive reliance on foreign competitors who tend to be very fickle and do not necessarily have local community interests at heart. For instance, the increasing labor costs in certain developing countries have prompted some foreign companies to relocate their operations, causing significant economic downturns in local communities. So, the end result of globalization for some places is entirely negative.
In summary, globalization is a double-edged sword. While individuals from developing countries may experience certain economic benefits from this trend, there are also potential long-term problems associated with it. Therefore, I believe that globalization is not universally beneficial.
